A particularly erudite and well-read type of rat represents the Book-Rat. Always to be found in libraries, bookshops and/or private bookshelves and often so engrossed in a book to realize the approach of the bookowner that slams the book shut with the Book-Rat inside.
Despite the now flattened appearance, the Book-Rat will remain faithful to the books and helps from now on to fight dog-ears and will remember your last read page in your favourite books.
Not only helpful but just great looking, the amigurumi crochet rat bookmark.

Assembling the Rat
Pupils: Take a Black thread and form a circle with it, same as if you would do a basic knot. Wind one end of the thread 3 times through the circle and then tighten.
Using a tapestry needle, pull both ends of the thread through the center of the eye and fasten them on the inside of the eye with several knots so that the pupil can not slip through the middle.
Ears: Alternatively, you can also sew on the eyes first, see “Eyes” below. Sew the ears to the head 11 stitch rows after the nose with a distance of 1 to 2 stitches to each other. If you have sewn on the eyes first, then sew on the ears 2 stitch rows after the eyes, also with a distance of 1 to 2 stitches to each other.
Eyes: Sew the eyes after the 6th stitch row after the nose to the head with a distance of 1 stitch at the narrowest point between each other.
